Day to day
Day 1 - 6 hours trail ride to the magic lake
- Arrival in Fayoum by private transportation from Cairo (around 100km , 1,5 hours).
- Check in at Tzila lodge
- Meet your riding guides, their horses and visit the stables.
- Drive with the horses to Wadi El Rayan, enjoying the stunning desert landscapes along the way.
- Half day ride (trail ride) in Wadi Al Rayan and by the magic lake, known for its changing colors and beautiful setting, (possibility to swim with the horses).
- Lunch in the desert, prepared by the bedouins.
- Drive back to your lodge.
- Free evening at the lodge or in Tunis village.
Day 2 - Art and local activities, 1 hour sunset ride in the village
- Option for bird watching at 06:30 am – duration 2,5 h – Fayoum and more specifically Lake Qarun is one of the best birds watching location in Egypt.
- Breakfast at the lodge
- Walking visit of Tunis village, explore the fascinating history behind its famous pottery, understand its renowned craftsmanship, and even participate in a hands-on pottery-making class.
- Visit and lunch in an agri lodge (baking class and farming activities will be offered to you).
- Sunset horse back riding in the village and by the lake Qarun (short ride).
- Free evening and dinner.
Day 3 - 6 hours trail ride in North lake Qarun
- Breakfast at Tzila lodge
- 6-hour trail ride to the north of Lake Qarun, allowing you to explore a completely untouched desert scenery.
- Lunch at a camp in the desert overlooking the lake Qarun
- Free evening and night at Tzila lodge
Day 4 - Departure from Fayoum

Tunis stable
Tunis stable is a guest house is a family business. The story started when Mohammed Saleh came to Tunis village in Fayoum with a couple of horses and built a small stable with his family.
Together with Evelynne Porret who founded the pottery school and Abdo Goubeir who built the first guest house, Mohammed was of the 3 main people who turned Tunis Village into the magical destination it is today.
Mohammed established the first horse stable in Tunis in 2002, and now, together with his two sons Youssef and Hussein he is the proud owner of more than 30 beautiful horses, providing the utmost riding experience in Egypt to people of all riding levels.

About the lodge
Tzila Lodge, the second oldest building in Tunis Village, was renovated multiple times along its forty five years.
Its architectural structure is designed to follow the ancestral Fayoum method of dome construction whilst meeting the requirements of modern day life thus adding a spice of culture to your stay.

Tzila’s location provides its guests a spectacular view of Lake Qaroun, making its rooftop terrace the perfect place to observe the sunrise. A private pool is also accessible to all guests to use anytime during the stay. A simple fusion of oriental & western cuisine is presented at Tzila Restaurant by combining rich influences from local ingredients to create an authentic culinary sensation.

Tzila Lodge has eleven unique rooms, each designed and beautifully furnished with the element of ancient motifs and traditional techniques reflecting Egypt’s wealth of inspirational culture and heritage. Domes, arches, thick walls, and absence of cement keep the rooms cool during the summer and warm during the cold winters. The rooms’ layout are spread in an Omda style house. Each room has a distinct layout but all offer the same traditional vibe.

Youssef
Youssef is a skilled horseman and a passionate lover of horses.
He got his love for them from his father since he grew up around horses. Now, he’s helping grow the family business in Fayoum and all over Egypt. He’s part of a legit family of riders and breeders. Youssef’s not just an awesome rider, but he also knows his horses and the oasis inside out. When you’re with him, you’ll feel super safe and get a real, immersive experience, checking out hidden spots and learning the oasis’ secrets that most people don’t know about.
And on top of all that, he’s an excellent photographer who can capture amazing photos and videos to immortalize your horseback rides !

Good to know
- Language : English or Arabic
- Horse ride level required : intermediate or advanced, riders must be fit, able to trot, canter and gallop and have experience with trail riding. This ride is for good intermediate and experienced riders only; you must be confident at all paces, able to take a light seat in canter and gallop and to ride with soft, independent hands.
- Weight limit for riders is 90kg
